Jim began his finance career in 1991, at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (“DLJ”) in fixed-income sales to institutions. While at DLJ, Jim pioneered the corporate cash effort, counting many of Silicon Valley’s largest high technology corporations as his clients. He later developed expertise managing private client assets for wealthy individuals – many from the technology industry.
From 1998 through May 2002, Jim was a Vice President in the Montgomery Division of Banc of America Securities. At Montgomery, he again focused on managing private client assets. Through his relationships with investment bankers, analysts, position traders, and his relationships with the founders and engineers of some of Silicon Valley’s high tech companies, Jim functioned as an information hub. He creatively leveraged the strengths of Bank of America to meet the myriad needs of his clients including: option exercises, equity and debt derivative hedging and wealth management consulting.
